Students Think Big at 2017 YES Conference

"This is the one earth we have, and we've got to live here forever, so we better save it now."
Monday, May 15, 2017

Hundreds of students from all over the region gathered this year at the Bay Area Metro Center in San Francisco to participate in the 2017 Youth for Environment and Sustainability (YES) Conference. They expressed a wide variety of interests and told us about their plans for the future as they presented, learned, networked and mingled. Here are some of their stories.

“Decisions are made by those who show up.”

"Start it yourself. Be that trendsetter."

Some 500 junior high and high school students from around the region flocked to our offices at the Bay Area Metro Center on the last Saturday in February for the third annual Youth for the Environment and Sustainability (YES) Conference.
The YES Conference is a free, annual event that brings together middle- and high-school students from the nine San Francisco Bay Area counties to discuss solutions to the climate change crisis.
