Brad Paul is the Deputy Executive Director for Local Government Services at the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. In this role, Mr. Paul provides oversight and supervision of the Local Collaboration Programs (LCPs), which include: the San Francisco Estuary Partnership, POWER, BayREN, ABAG PLAN, and the Advancing California Finance Authority.
Mr. Paul served as the Acting Executive Director from November 2016 to June 2017 of the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and provided oversight and supervision of ABAG's planning and service programs, and served as liaison to the region's city, town, and county managers and administrators.
Mr. Paul started as ABAG's Deputy Director in March 2013. He came to ABAG with an extensive background in community planning and development, affordable housing, and philanthropy. He has thirty years of experience helping private and public entities address the economic, social and political problems challenging cities and neighborhoods with a major focus on developing creative outreach, planning and development strategies, and mediating among groups with differing and passionate points of view. He has worked in the public, non-profit, and private sectors. Mr. Paul served as San Francisco's Deputy Mayor of Housing for Mayor Art Agnos from 1988 to 1992.
