Bike to Work Day 2014 Gets Off to a Strong Start

Bike to Work Day in the San Francisco Bay Area kicked off to a great start with thousands of bike commuters from every corner of the region traveling using pedal power.  The clouds and cold morning breeze did not discourage riders pedaling to their nearest Energizer Station to pick up their commemorative 20th anniversary Bike to Work Day canvas bag, refreshments and other fabulous giveaways.

Over 300 Energizer Stations were set up and ready for the morning commute — with some opening up as early as 5:30 a.m. All nine counties had Energizer Stations located along popular bike commute routes, at transit stations, local trails and at various employment centers. With Energizer Stations available as far south as Gilroy, all the way up to Cloverdale, and hundreds in between, bike commuters were sure to meet cheers, encouragement and camaraderie from the hundreds of volunteers who were up bright and early, ready with enthusiasm for Bike to Work Day commuters.
