New Electric Vehicle (EV) Readiness Guide Now Available for California Communities

Ready, Set, Charge, California! A Guide to EV-Ready Communities provides public agencies throughout California with guidance on how to prepare for the coming wave of Electric Vehicles (EVs). This comprehensive guide provides access to state-of-the-art policies, ordinances, and best practices in EV readiness — including information on charging station options and installation issues, signage, ADA compliance, permitting, EV-friendly building and parking ordinances, and other key issues. The guide will support local efforts to accelerate EV adoption — thereby reducing fuel costs and greenhouse emissions, while boosting community health, energy security, and green jobs.

Developed by the Association of Bay Area Governments, the Bay Area Climate Collaborative, EV Communities Alliance, Clean Fuel Connection and Lightmoves Consulting,Ready, Set, Charge is the authoritative EV readiness guide for California governments. The guide incorporates the input of over 40 EV experts, and includes more than 80 pages of guidance, including model ordinances and links to local, state, and national resources.
