MTC-SAFE is one of 21 SAFE programs around the state.

This program reduces congestion, improves public safety and enhances air quality by quickly clearing freeway incidents.

SAFE Services

These two services are making the Bay Area’s freeways work better:

Freeway Service Patrol (FSP): MTC’s roving tow truck service comes to the rescue of stranded motorists as part of an effort to reduce recurrent congestion.

Roadside call boxes also provide an important service for motorists without cell phones, and in areas with unreliable cellular reception.
