Bay Wheels is the Bay Area's regional bike share program serving Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland, San Jose and San Francisco. Bay Wheels offers convenient, healthy, climate-friendly transportation around the Bay Area.

Bay Wheels offers over 7,000 bicycles (both traditional bikes and hybrid electric bikes) at 550 stations:

  • Pedal-powered bikes can be picked up and dropped off at Bay Wheels docking stations
  • E-bikes can use the docking stations or can be locked to a city bike rack

Bay Wheels is a partnership between MTC, the five local governments, and Motivate (a subsidiary of Lyft).
