32 students from the Bay Area’s nine counties are working at transportation agencies this summer as part of the 17th annual MTC High School Internship Program. They met each other for the first time at an orientation event on June 23 in Oakland. Launched in 2000 with a focus on underrepresented minority populations, the program has helped hundreds of local students acquire valuable, marketable skills while introducing them to lesser-known career options in transportation planning and related fields.
