MTC-led COVID Response Video Featured at ITS World Congress

A video highlighting MTC-led efforts in response to COVID-triggered transit issues was highlighted at the ITS World Conference in Los Angeles last week.

The COVID pandemic affected the way people move throughout the region. MTC and transit agencies seized the challenge as an opportunity to rethink the larger system and focus on what's important: the rider experience.

MTC created a 32-member Blue Ribbon Transit Recovery Task Force to look at the challenges facing Bay Area transit in the wake of the pandemic.

In July 2021, the Task Force approved 27 specific near-term actions to re-shape the region’s transit system into a more connected, more efficient, and more user-focused mobility network across the entire Bay Area.
