PDA and PPA Grant Applications Close Soon
The application window for Priority Development Area (PDA) and Priority Production Area (PPA) grants is open until Feb. 23, 2023.
MTC is taking proposals for a total of $17 million in available funding for planning and technical assistance efforts for PDAs and PPAs. Visit the PDA grant web page or PPA grant web page for more information and to start an application. A recorded webinar for applicants highlights funding opportunities and explains details about the process.
While grants for PDAs have been available in the past, PPA grants are new in 2023.
To meet the Bay Area’s long-range goals of reduced greenhouse gas emissions and more affordable housing for all, MTC funds plans and offers technical assistance to locally nominated PDAs.
Plan Bay Area 2050 – the region’s long-range plan – includes over 35 locally nominated Priority Production Areas from 25 jurisdictions as “growth geographies.” The plan's Economy Element includes a strategy to retain and invest in key industrial lands – including PPAs – as part of a broader effort to shift the location of jobs and achieve a better jobs-housing balance throughout the Bay Area.
