The "Experience Electric" campaign made its second stop of the summer at the Berkeley farmer's market in June, providing East Bay electric enthusiasts with the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest electric vehicle (EV) models. About 20 of these ride-and-drive events will be taking place at venues throughout the Bay Area for the next several months, with the goal of introducing the public to the smoothness, style, cost-effectiveness and ecological benefits of driving electric. EVs from major manufacturers — including Ford, Cadillac, Smartcar and BMW — are available for test driving.
