Rising Sea Level

The Rockefeller Foundation is funding a $4.6 million dollar grant to help the Bay Area pay for ten projects to deal with rising sea levels that are expected to increase by six to nine feet over the next 100 years. The Resilient by Design/Bay Area Challenge is spearheaded by MTC, the Association of Bay Area Governments, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, and the Bay Conservation and and Development Commission. The long-range plan to deal with rising sea levels in the Bay Area was announced one day before the President of the United States declared the US would withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord.

Mark Jones was there as the Rockefeller Foundation grant was announced along the shore of Oakland at the Middle Harbor Shoreline Park.
