A lack of affordable housing in the Bay Area is causing displacement. What does that mean? Pretty simply, while thousands of our residents make minimum wage, in Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties a worker would neeed to near $38 an hour to afford a two bedroom apartment. Those workers only make a third of that, and that means they are moving away.... and that lack of affordability means no one can take their place. Here are the opening remarks for this discussion.
