Accessible Futures Conference

Sharing. Listening. Learning.

Join us this summer for a disability-led community conversation on housing, transportation, the environment and more.

On June 16 and 17, 2025, MTC and the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) will host Accessible Futures: Sharing. Listening. Learning. — a regional gathering of the Bay Area disability community to identify the unmet needs and gaps in policies, services and advocacy for persons with disabilities across the topics of transportation, housing, the environment and other topics of priority for the community.

The primary objectives of the conference are to:

  1. Convene the community in a centralized regional forum to lay the foundation for building a robust network of individuals, advocates and organizations;
  2. Develop a conference proceedings report for the purpose of advancing community goals and action items; and
  3. Identify new opportunities for future collaboration among conference participants.

Conference participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Engage with community leaders and advocates across the nine Bay Area counties in a welcoming and fully accessible environment.
  • Share your lived experiences and priorities with policymakers and invited elected officials.
  • Develop partnerships and identify opportunities for future collaboration.

Registration is required and is slated to open in mid-April. There is no cost to participate. Meals will be provided during the conference and drinks and hors d'œuvres will be available during the evening reception on June 16. An option to participate remotely will be available, but we encourage participants to join us in person to build community and cultivate partnerships.

Download the conference save-the-date flyer and share it with your networks.
